love Royal Tavern!!! great service, amazing food, fun atmosphere. been here twice now and plan to keep coming back. I wish their hot dogs were beef, but the veggie hot dog was a great substitute.
Took my brother to Philly for his bday. Ricky the waitress was phenomenal loved her vibe and her recommendations. I had the Nic Mac burger it was absolutely delicious. Warranted a 5 star review. The dessert coffee was something id tell you not to leave without. The chocolate cake was decent. Loved this place and definitely coming back!!
I am so happy to see Royal Tavern is back and better as ever. The double burger has to be the very best in the city-and the drinks and service are always spot on. Love a place that has great staff and menus and is dark, toasty, and playing 90s grunge.

I went here early in the morning. After a long night standing at a concert this place offered such respite!! For it being so late the staff was still so kind, and the food was great!! No lie! It wasn’t typical bar food. It’s definitely a step up. I don’t drink so I can’t comment on the alcohol. Thanks so much to the staff at this place! Great work!! We appreciate it!! We’ll be back.
I would simply incinerate if this restaurant ever removed their vegan gyro from their menu. It’s been an uphill battle to find a vegan gyro that isn’t falafel based in Philly but alas. I love you Royal and our server, Jasmine said she loved my outfit and was highly attentive!!! Thank you for food, service, and ambience 3333
This may be one of my favorite spots for good food service and drink even before moving back to city. Loved the July hot dog specials and looking forward to next years and the burger is one of best in city for sure. Loved the fries and will be back to try other items including the specials.
The food coming out of this little bar was crazy good. I don't usually have anything to say about a Caesar salad, but this was an extraordinary delicacy. Piles of delicious shredded cheese with perfectly salty anchovies resting on top and the little hidden croutons throughout a salad with just the right amount of dressing. Just wow. I also had the porchetta empanadas with Chimichurri sauce and they were amazing. The service was very friendly and efficient. The cocktails were very tasty. We'll definitely be back to this hidden gem the next time we're in town.
